Programs | Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards - February 25, 2008

ABOUT THE EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Since 2000, CECP's Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards have been presented annually to companies demonstrating outstanding CEO leadership, innovation, dedication to measurement, and partnership in corporate philanthropy.

CECP created the Directors Award in 2004 to recognize a nonprofit organization that has distinguished itself by building an effective partnership with a company in its community. The Directors Award includes a $25,000 cash donation made by CECP Directors to the honored nonprofit.

2008 applications will be available in September and are reviewed according to the following criteria:

CEO Leadership - winning applications highlighted the involvement of a committed CEO, executive leadership, and staff actively involved in promoting the program and focused on developing strategic, measurable and focused results and implementing successful initiatives.

Innovation - companies must step beyond the traditional boundaries of corporate philanthropy to explore new ways of solving long-standing social problems and use
corporate resources (i.e. employees, partnerships, products) in creative ways.

Measurement - the winners show their commitment to measuring and evaluating all aspects of philanthropic investment and social/business results, determining the impact of the philanthropic work.

Partnership - for program sustainabililty, winning companies work closely with nonprofit partners to ensure the corporate resources such as technology, employees, influence, relationships, and knowledge base are best leveraged.
